There's actually a story behind this one. It's about one of my close friends who used to be a hardcore addict. It just kind of happened by accident, so it's not very good. But here it is.
Addiction.
He used to get high
every day, every hour,
hit the pipes, the needles, and the bowls
and he would hit them hard.
That was his way,
his way of dealing with life.
Life is never easy it seems
but for some it's simply pure hell.
He wasn't a wreck,
but he wasn't okay either,
he was going nowhere fast
the result could have been tragic.
But he took a breath
said I don't need this shit
and started learning to deal
with all that pain.
Everyday he still gets high
but now he's only high on life.
She whispered to her own reflection "I will be strong."
"I am not what has happened to me.I am what I have chosen to become."- Carl Jung
This is pretty good
I love how you described how he was at the beginning and at the end of his addiction. It shows that people can get through stuff like this <3
"Life isn't about how popular you are... What girl or boy you are dating or who you know. Life is about always being true to who you are or what you believe in. Never let anyone convince you that their way is better than your way. In the end all we have is our hearts... and our minds. This is the reason why we sing... this is the reason why we cry... this is why we live."
I know you said this was just thrown together, but I actually like this alot especially the "but for some it's simply pure hell" great discription in this poem, and I like that it's a happy ending! lol. I hope you friend is over this for good, stay by their side, seems like you've been a great friend.
I'm burning out like a bright light, I wasn't ready for this. You're adorable as hell, but I'm glancing at your wrist.
