Period on birth control when I shouldn't be having one. -
May 5th 2016, 10:42 AM
I'm having my period but I'm not on the week off for birth control. I'm not sure why this is happening.
I did not take my week off this month which might be contributing to it. My pill pack doesn't come with placebo pills so I totally forgot to skip a week. It was a silly mistake.
I'm not sure if that's the cause or its something else.
I've never had this happen before though. I don't know if I should call my gynecologist and ask them for advice or just continue taking my pills until I hit the week off.

It's probably because you forgot to take a week off. This happened to me to.
Theoretically, if you skip the week off, your body should just skip it's period until the end of the next cycle, but I guess some peoples bodies just don't work like that and you might be able to push it back by a week or 2 and then your body flips shit and has it's period any how. I talked to a doctor about it; totally normal. Of course, talk to your own doctor for your own needs but yeah....
There is the off chance it's something else, but it sounds like that's the culprit for now. I hope that helps.

Hey I've been on the pill for several years now and this has happened several times. Try not to worry about it too much. Like said above, it should push it back but sometimes your body gets a bit confused and makes you get your period. Also, is it your full on period or lighter like spotting? Sometimes if you miss a couple days you can spot, and skipping the week off and missing a few could make your period start. That being said, this is normal, don't worry about it. PM me if you have any other questions!
