Re: this thread isn't about dating but about a friendship

I’m moving this to Friends & Family where you’ll get better responses.

I think you should talk to this person. There’s ways to do it without being mean. You can say something like you’re flattered that she considers you a friend, but you need some space sometimes too. I wouldn’t call her annoying or clingy when you’re talking to her though. I’m not saying she won’t be upset, but at least you have been honest with her about things.

If you don’t want to be friends with her at all, that’s okay too. You can also let her know you’re flattered but you don’t feel as if you two have things in common.

Basically, be honest so it doesn’t feel like you’re leading her on. If things start getting heated it’s also okay to take a step back and resume the conversation when things calm down.

I hope this helps!

this thread isn't about dating but about a friendship

This year in my school all the classes got mixed up, but i still am friends with my close friend group, consisting of 2 other girls (I'm a girl too). Anyway, there are many new students this year cause my school is considered to be the best in the country. And there is a girl with which we started talking but lately she is way too clingy and is kind of trying to be with me all the time and not so much with the other 2 girls, even though my bestfriend was the one who talked to her first. During breaks, whenever I want to talk to my friends I feel like she is ALWAYS there and I cant say anything (I have discussed this with my friends and they agree). Also even when she tries to talk to me all she asks me is "what's up?" and i answer "nothing much" and thats about it. But it seems like she doesnt get that we have NOTHING to talk about. I also feel like her opinions change according to who she is closer to at the time (my friend group or other ones). And she has told me that she likes a guy i like, but she doesnt know i like him so thats on me. What should I do? I dont want to be mean but i dont want to have her with me all the time.

P.S. I know this isn't an important issue but it has been bothering me.
