But frankly some of the best art ive seen is AI and it can absolutely capture feeling. Ive seen liminal ones and nostalgic ones and a mix of the two. At the very least, I think it can make creating art a more accessible experience for everyone. Probably sucks though if you are actually good at normal art, but I was the student the art teachers all made fun of for sucking at art. Ive long wanted to express the artistic imagination that exists in my head but hands and paintbrush dont cooperate.

Re: Opinion on AI
I really dont know. That is the big question. There are certainly some jobs it will automate, jobs it will create, and jobs that will be minimally affected. Whether it will cause net job loss: im not sure. There is no going back though. The theory behind LLMs actually goes back to a 2017 paper researchers at Google titled "Attention is All You Need". OpenAI actually developed GPT-1 and GPT-2 before 2020-with GPT-1 coming out in 2018. Though they were much more primitive than modern models, it was still technically a LLM. It was a revolution in the field of neural networks that caused this.
LLMs have been around since before the pandemic....they were just too weak to really be useful and served as an advanced but often incorrect autocomplete instead of an assistant. But future rapid devopment towards modern AI became largely inevitable in 2017 even though the modern wave of models and interest started taking off closer to 2023.

Re: Opinion on AI
It depends what Ai is used for, there’s lots of scams where people use Ai copying voices of someone etc to make the scam more convincing. Ai is kinda taking over , which does scare me abit. But it does have some uses like I do use ChatGPT for some things like photo editing etc.
I do feel like Ai needs to be ‘policed’ better as lots of videos I see on social media are Ai and some are very very convincing and realistic.

Re: Opinion on AI
I agree with you that data centers can have a purpose for some tasks, but it can also be a problem. People use it as a therapist or for medical advise, or they start talking to it and relying on it as if it is a friend or lover. I have heard that it has been useful in a medical setting but I don't have any sources offhand to prove it.

Opinion on AI
What are your opinions on AI? Do you think it'll benefit society or the planet in the long run? Why? Why not?
I think we have to be very careful when it comes to using AI. AI data-centers use a lot of energy, water, and other natural resources to keep the machines running. It's noisiness is a disruption to local community members, most of whom never even wanted the data-center to be built in their neighborhood in the first place. AI is already beginning to take away jobs from people and destroying creativity by making people rely too much on the technology instead of coming up with their own writing/artwork. But AI can be used in a positive way as long as there are strict regulations. I don't know what those regulations would be, but these billionaires need to focus more on coming up with a plan instead of investing their money elsewhere.
