I wish you the best of luck in getting back on your feet! It's really tough out there these days. I guess I can't say I've had any of the experience myself but my parents definitely struggle to pay their bills. A lot of that started after my dad got sick, though, and then they changed stuff in our mortgage contract without telling us.

Saving for a rainy day is a lovely idea.

I'm getting better! It's been a tough year. [Money wise] I have to admit - money has never been a problem before. And THAT was the problem. I didn't respect it. I didn't appreciate the value of a dollar. But now I do. It's embarrassing not being able to pay a bill. So I got rid of most of my stuff and am now [mostly] debt free. I'm telling you this - I guess - because I'm hoping to encourage you to 'save for a rainy day'. Having at least a little money put aside helps you remain independent. Never be stingy or cheap. But take care of yourself - and your future - too! Hmm.... I don't know why I just said all of that to you. But maybe you need to hear it! I hope you're having a good day!! GBH -
