I later found out it was because the window was all dirty from the ice he had scraped off, but it was so cold that the cleaning fluid for the windscreen had frozen so he couldn't use that. The snow melted in his hand as he rubbed it on the windscreen which cleaned it relatively well. For about ten minutes until that dried in too and made it even more difficult to see through.

HE DIDN'T EVEN EXPLAIN WHY?

TRY BEING IN THE CAR WHEN HE JUST GOT BACK IN AND KEPT GOING LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED.

About ten minutes later he went "No. Need to try again" AND DID THE EXACT SAME THING.
