I definitely agree with you! While I didn't stay overnight in my college because of the date I chose, I found touring that campus and others to be a great experience because it kind of hits you a bit more, if that makes sense.

One piece of advice I can give you is go with your gut. I toured two schools, the school I am at now and another one. Even though I LOVED the school I am at now, I originally committed to a different school because it was a private school and I kept hearing the education was better, blah blah. Long story short the school I committed to screwed me over and I'm at the school I loved anyway and am doing great haha. The moral of that story is go with your gut, because it won't steer you wrong! There might be that one school that "speaks" to you for one reason or another, so it will be useful to listen to those feelings.

I am so glad that going to this make it less scary for you overall and that you're even able to cross off some fields from your list! If you need any advice about actually starting school feel free to ask! I like making sure people's first year goes smoothly, because it really is an awesome experience.

Hey thanks for the message! The weekend was great, I love the campus (besides the location) and am considering it as one of my top picks now. I think more colleges should do something like this because it gives you a great feel for the campus getting to spend time in the dorms and even classrooms for subjects you're interested in. Getting the experience of actually staying in a dorm with a random roommate was amazing too, well for me at least I had a great roommate lol, and the thought of doing this for real when I go away to college is so much less scary now. What I'm really happy about though is the workshops because they allowed me to see I'm actually very interested in looking more into 2 of them and can now safely cross out the other 2 from the fields I was interested in that they offered! Plus the socializing in a college setting was fun, and there were so many people there from all over the country and even a couple other countries! There were so many more kids than I had thought were going to be there, and I loved all the people watching and just randomly talking to cool new people! I wish more people could experience things like this at more colleges, it was truly an amazing experience!

I saw your post and even though you already went on the college tour given that I think it's today, I want to know how it went? I'm going to be starting up my last semester at my college in a few weeks so I just like seeing how people who are just starting are!
