This made me tear up a bit. I was saddened to hear about Pancake. I'm not sure if it helps at all but I read somewhere that small animals tend to hide signs of pain or illness because they are prey animals. So try to take comfort in that you did the best you could for Pancake, and try not to be too harsh on yourself for feeling like you didn't notice earlier. I definitely agree with thinking that Pancake sent Waffle to you though :hugs:
