A Letter To My Past Self

Dear Ashley,
I know life is tough for you right now, but I can tell you. It WILL get better. I am proof of that. Let me tell you this, it's not the way out. Suicide is never the right way. Angela would be so disappointed and you know what, when Josie has her baby, you will be the godmother, and that little girl will look up to you. You need to be there for her. Things are going to be okay.
Now this is something I need to get out right away. STAY AWAY FROM MICHEAL!! He may seem sweet and kind and he may give you the love you never seem to get from mom and dad. But he is horrible, he is a stalker. He will ruin your life. He won't leave you alone when you tell him it's over.
Stay with Brooke. She will be your one and only true friend. I know it doesn't seem like it right now, but she will be. We will need her eventually, I know I did. Cherish the fact that you live so close, because it won't be like that forever (because of Micheal, I might add)
Spend more time with Krista, tell her not to get in that car. Please. But stay away from her twin sister, Kayla. She only used you. So stay away to prevent heartbreak. The same goes for Mariah in 10th grade, she's fun for awhile, but a lot can change over one summer.
Don't fall to hard for Nikita. I know he'll say he likes you, but it's hopeless. He'll head home soon enough.
Spend more time with Grandpa J, he won't be around forever. So listen to his stories and ask questions, he really appreciates it.
Forgive Mom and Dad. I know they are tough and the things they say hurt a lot. But they don't know they do. But they really do care. They'll be cheering you on at Graduation.
Spend as much time as you can with Angela and Crystle. Crystle will be your rock in the long run, she will be your number one fan. And Angela won't be around for long. So enjoy those girl's night outs and movie nights as long as you can.
Don't let the psoriasis bother you. I know people will stare and point, and someone will say something that truly hurts you, but the sooner you accept the fact that there is no cure yet, the better off you will be.
Don't give up your dreams. Study hard and you will make high honors. I learned that the hard way. Speak your mind and you won't get roped up into things you don't wanna do. Save your money, your going to need it for college. Have more confidence, you are important. You were put on this earth for a reason, you'll find out the reason soon enough.
If you feel as if no one is there for you and no one cares. I do. I care about you. Never forget that.
