I am seeing a counsular( I thought I was seeing an psychologist) she is nice and all she is helping a little, but it's just not working. Would seeing a psychologist work better then a consular?

Every person is different. That being said, what works for one person may not work for another. That also means that what one therapist/counselor/psychologist does may not click with a certain individual, which may be why it's not working for you. That being said, you deserve to be with someone who can help, and if you want to try a psychologist by all means do! You can always ask your current counselor for a referral. She shouldn't get upset, sometimes two people just don't click in that way. If you are honest about how you feel she may also be able to change her tactic up first to see if that helps, if you want.
