A Year Without Lip Action?

My test results came back. First, my blood-cell count test (the one that isn't 100% accurate but usually gives the doctors a pretty good idea about what I have) showed little indication that I have mono. All my cell counts were normal, with the one exception simply showing that I had an infection...which we all know anyway. So, we all figured we hit another brick wall and my illness remained unknown. However when the second test came back (the one that took longer but was a for-sure answer of whether or not I had it) it came back positive for mono. Confused? Yeah, me too.
But regardless of the double story we were getting from my blood, the doc says I definitely have mono. Basically he told me that even if I start to feel normal again (which I'm already beginning to, thank the big man upstairs) and my symptoms aren't present anymore, I'll still be sick. I'll pretty much still be sick for several months, or up to a year. Meaning? For the next year I have to always use my own straw (which I rarely do), not share a lollipop (who doesn't steal a lick every now and then?), and basically keep every drop of my saliva in my own contaminated mouth.
This also means no kissing.
Okay, so it's not like innocent, little 'ol Tor gets a ton of romance action in the first place...in fact I could count the number of guys I've kissed on one hand (all of which were sadly a one time thing.) But really? A whole year? Are you people crazy? I just started my first year as a college girl and now you tell me I can't kiss anyone? That was an FML moment for sure. I probably don't have to wait the entire year. Or maybe I should just put a "CONTAGIOUS" sign on my forehead.
Oh, and I apologize for the long blogs lately. I'm sure most of you just take one look and don't bother

Mono tests are a bitch! I remember mine kept coming back with mixed results tooooo...
