I think you should talk to this person. There’s ways to do it without being mean. You can say something like you’re flattered that she considers you a friend, but you need some space sometimes too. I wouldn’t call her annoying or clingy when you’re talking to her though. I’m not saying she won’t be upset, but at least you have been honest with her about things.
If you don’t want to be friends with her at all, that’s okay too. You can also let her know you’re flattered but you don’t feel as if you two have things in common.
Basically, be honest so it doesn’t feel like you’re leading her on. If things start getting heated it’s also okay to take a step back and resume the conversation when things calm down.
