did i deserve the punishment i got for locking my clastrophobic sister in her room ? - February 24th 2026, 09:55 AM

Last thursday i had a row with my older sister, because she is claustrophobic and hates confined spaces , i locked her in her room, i enjoyed watching her kick and screaming to be let out, i only meant for her to be locked in for an hour or 2, while anyway my friend rang up and i got distracted and went out, i forgot about my sister, my parents came home 6 hours later and found her locked in, she had missed her driving lesson and a date with her boyfriend, she even had to wee in a flower pot, my parents went mad and said i would be getting a taste of my own medicine , they said i will be spending ALL of last weekend locked in my room as a punishment,as i have exams this year my parents have set me tons of school work to do , including maths , english , french and science plus two 4 page punishment essays per day, my parents made me get up at 7am, and in bed at 9pm for lights out, i had to eat in my room and was only allowed out for bathroom breaks, it was a HARD , long and VERY dull punishment, did i deserve it ?

Okay, you do not sound like such a great person. If I were your your mother and father, I would've kicked you to the streets. Back in the day, you would've gotten a complete whipping with a foot-long ruler, forced to eat soap, and locked in the room. Forget seeing your friends until you turned eighteen. This might be considered cruel and inhumane punishment, but times were very different when I was young. Parents have gotten too soft on their children; I always say Millennial parents are the worst parents.

Absolutely deserved. My parents would have done a lot more than giving me work like that to do. ESPECIALLY if I was showing no remorse. You basically caused your sister a lot of excess anxiety and even trauma, which is not great. You might hate being locked up, but I bet your sister was in absolute terror being closed in her room with no way out. And what if there was some emergency such as a fire where she would have had to leave the house but couldn't because she was locked in her room? You can't say an emergency like that will never happen to you or your family. Try and think of things from your sister's perspective. Take one of your biggest fears and ask yourself what it would be like if someone forced you into that situation without consent.

How the hell do you think your sister felt when you locked her up? Like the poster above me said, you absolutely deserve this punishment because you've shown no remorse whatsoever. There could've been a fire or another catastrophic emergency, and your sister wouldn't have been able to escape. If she died, you would've been held accountable for her death. Don't you get how serious that is?

It's not about you, so get over yourself and grow the hell up.

Lowkey speaking, I seriously hope you're a troll looking to ragebait and nothing more.

I think its justified punishment for the way your acting.

I was around for your last post about acting out at school, and how your parents reacted to that, and the punishment you got then.

From the sound of it your actions are not okay in either events. It also seems like your not learning from your mistakes, which is not okay either.
I think your parents are doing exactly as they should be, when you actions are not becoming any better, and you keep making bad choices with how you act, or misbehave.

You need to take a close look at how you have been acting, and really think is any of this is worth it? You obviously do not like the punishments you've been given but are not doing any self reflecting on why your getting these punishments, or learning from anything your parents are doing for punishments.

You need to really start trying to understand the things your doing are not okay, how to make better choices and to fix how you act, before you do something worse and get worse punishment. To me it seems like your going down the path of bad choices that could get you in some real trouble, that is not just some little punishment from your parents.

Things will continue to get harder and more punishment if you do not start making better choices for yourself.

This is coming from someone who has been there done that.

I fell in love the way you fall asleep. Slowly then all at once <3
