Foot tattoo? - November 20th 2010, 08:54 PM

I wanna get a small tattoo on the inside of my left foot, like almost on the sole. Saying "Tot ziens" in little swirly font - in memory of my grandma. Anyone got any foot tattoos and can warn me on the pain?

The foot is one of the more painful spots to get a tattoo and the inside will be more painful than the top or the side.

But also, everyone's pain tolerance is different. I know people that have said their foot didn't hurt and other's that have said it was bad but tolerable so it all depends on the person!

Foot tattoos are very painful. Along with the people I know who got one. They can get worn and faded easily.
One of my mom's friends has a lady bug on her foot and it is very faded. Probably because she's constantly tanning.
Either way. I'd suggest getting it small on your ankle or something. =)

Foot tattoos are definitely painful for a lot of people. If you think you can handle it, go for it.

If no, I suggest taking Bridget's advice and getting a small tattoo on your ankle.

Agreed, foot tattoos are very painful because you have a lot of bone and the skin is thin there. Theres not much fat there either. But I'm sure you can do it. Good luck!

well this is not what your looking for and you may not car but i dont think getting a tribute tattoo almost on the sole of your foot is a good idea in some cultures your feet belong on the ground it is very disrepsectful to even have you feet pointing towards someone because it is the lowest part on your body. but this may not be valid as it may not be your culture i just thought i'd let you know

It's only because I plan on going into teaching and I've been told by the current school I work in that visible tattoos are frowned upon ... I originally wanted it on my wrist but not sure how easy it would be to cover :/
