I no longer shop at Walmart -

I know it is cheaper, but I just couldnt do it anymore. From employees (who often forget the customer is the reason they have a job) rudely blocking the aisles with their stocking (they have staff their 24/7 and now close at 11, stock at night then!), to simply not filling my prescription because it was written in a different city, I am done with them. Last year I would go shopping there and find half the aisles blocked by the workers. They acted like Im in the way. Sir, customers are why you have a job. Get out of my way! They wanted to save money by using self check out… got falsely accused of theft as a result. Manager acted surprised when he discovered I actually paid for everything in my bag. Another time, I was illegally detained for refusing to show my receipt (which, I am not required to grab anyways…the machine offers a no-receipt option). Fuck walmart employees. For the first time in my life, I support Jeff Bezos and will be using Amazon for ordinary items and Publix (a famous florida(and southeast-but primarily florida) supermarket) for my prescriptions. Walmart is an awful place to shop. Going on a full year now of no Walmart. Nearly a full year away from McDonalds and Taco Bell as well.
Threatening to call the police on me for something I didnt do, or being accused of seeing a pillmill doctor because I had to move and prefer to see my same doctor isnt a part of daily shopping I want to see normalized. Walmart: I hope you go bankrupt and close every store within my lifetime. I wont have any nostalgia for you!
Mcdonalds: I remember when I was 18 and walked into an Orlando store with my highschool buddies. This location had a massive gameroom and I was impressed even as an adult. Lots of arcade games, etc. Now I can see you converting it into a grey ugly building with ruder employees and do it yourself ordering. Youve also tripled the prices but the workers think Im being dramatic when I get a burger that has been microwaved (cooking the vegetables and ruining the taste). I hope you go under too. I can get a burger and budweiser at some venues for cheaper than your stupid combos. It won’t be made by some idiot who thinks a microwaved and overcooked tomato is at all the same thing as a fresh one! And since I get the beer, I dont care about the extra wait as Ill be sipping on that. I prefer that to your SLOW drive throughs that take 20 minutes anyways! It’s no longer fast, no longer cheap, no longer gimmicky, and your restaurants are intentionally made to feel unwelcoming so that everyone gets drive throu. LOL. Hope to see you fold all your locations in my lifetime too.
Speaking of pharmacies: why is it that only overdose is being considered (particularly when people are mostly ODing on fake fentanyl pills and not real pharmaceauticals) when UNDERdosing is a real concern with benzos? I am prone to seizures and the blackbox warning on my RX says not to underdose or I could die? Pharmacists don’t care about that though. They only care about the possibility of “overdoses from opioids”. My med is not an opioid and cant cause overdose unless taken with another drug like an opioid. Im a legit patient. I dont take opioids and am at risk for seizure. Frankly, let natural selection do its work on those who want to abuse dangerous combos. I say that coldly not because I think they deserve to die, but if anyone is going to come to harm, it should be the people taking dangerous combos to boost their “high” and not legit patients. Allowing legit patients to go into withdrawal seizures so someone stupid doesnt overdose is ridiculous. If I was president, Id simply declare the opioid “epidemic” to be a personal problem.
As a libertarian, I believe people should be allowed to take risks and that the consequences of these risks should fall exclusively on them and not anyone else. If they want to take 10 pills that could possibly have fentanyl and mix it with benzos, that is their decision. Dont deny my legit RX because of that! We should not make policy restricting medication just because someone may mix it with some illegal street drugs. A pharmacist shouldnt be allowed to refuse prescriptions, they arent my doctor. Sure, they may say it helps prevent drug interactions, but mostly they use this “discretion” to deny controlled medication to people who need it. Did you know your pharmacist can refuse to fill a prescription for borth control/plan B/ hormone replacement just because they dont believe in those? Yeah, this needs to be stopped. A pharmacist is not a doctor. If I went online and told someone to not take meds their doctor gave them, Id get banned. But some pharm tech with less education than me is able to do that? Literally able to override an MD with only a bachelor’s? It would be an LOL if it wasnt true.
