Ok,
So for spring vacation I'm going to Cancun Mexico
I'm excited, don't get my wrong, but I have period over that time frame
I want to swim, but since I have period over that time frame, it's possible I might not be able to swim!
I started my period this December,so it's still new to me.
I'd love to tell you about how much periods are a sign of your womanhood, blah blah blah, but to be completely honest, I hate them too.
I'd recommend trying out tampons. They're really not all that scary. First, get the smallest kind that they have. I'd personally recommend the U By Kotex "Sleek" tampons, or another brand like that, since htey are basically made for the teenage body. Then, make sure you read the directions very carefully beforehand and put it in very carefully. I'd also recommend not trying to "attempt" before your period. TMI, but your blood sort of acts as lubrication during your period, so if you're not bleeding, tampons don't feel very nice in there.
If you can't do that, then you can always wear pads but then wear a looser bathing suit, maybe a pair of male or shorts bottoms. (As I always wear anyway since I'm weird!)
Tampons are kinda intimidating at first, huh? I was terrified of them, terrified they'd get "lost" inside me, terrified the string would snap, terrified something would happen.
It's really not that scary when you're used to them. Really it's just a ball of cotton wool that sits, doesn't move, just sits, inside you. Without going TMI, I had to get more comfortable with myself and touching myself before I could insert a tampon I had to get used to my fingers being there before I could stick a bit of wool up there. I also used to masturbate before inserting them, so I was completely relaxed, and, um, even more lubricated
You need to be relaxed for it to work. Anyway, if not you can just wear shorts as Traci said, or there's a pill you can get from the doctors to delay your period. It will however start as soon as you stop the tablet, or it did in my case.
Tampons are no big deal. Take a shower in the morning before the day starts and insert he tampon then. The hot water acts a lubricant and makes it easier so it doesnt hurt. It wont get lost, trust me. Once you get used to it, its really no big deal. and you can swim all you want.
I'm also afraid of tampons, but I have ended up using them while swimming. If it makes you feel better, put it in right when you change into your swim suit, and then take it out as soon as you change back into your regular clothes. That way you don't have to worry about it for a long amount of time.
Sorry I couldn't be there, I was tied to a rocking chair.
