That's cool - where have you applied for? Birmingham requires 8 A*s at GCSE?! Bloody hell...they kept that one quiet! And I thought getting onto the law degree was tough enough! Aston's a pretty good uni - been there quite a few times through Jiu-Jitsu (random but hey) and it's well located for most things in Brum. Hope things go well in the summer and when you start your course.

I've actually already applied and start in September, I was just curious. You need 8 A* s at GCSE to stand a chance at B'ham and I don't have this (I only took 5 as I was poorly at the time, and it was spread over a couple of years - I'm three years older than the average applicant ) so never looked at it.

    Hi Rachel,

I didn't actually study medicine I'm afraid - I completed a Law degree at the University of Birmingham last summer. We did cover issues surrounding medical law in quite a few topics though, so that's where my interest in things like this came from and it's kind of carried on ever since.
I know a few people who did study medicine at Birmingham though - it's got an absolutely massive medical school, and I did some research in there - so if you're planning on studying medicine it could be worth a look. They're nearing completion on a massive new hospital next to it so that might be of interest to you. Hope that's helpful and good luck with choosing where to study.
