Well, there's lot of people walking around the old city. It's hard to find someone not in cosplay. There's lots of tents where you can buy some good comics, playing games (all games, not only video games), see the artist during drawing. You can commission a work also!
Well, I recommend you to visit Lucca, where one of the most famous gatherings for cosplayers, gamers, designers. In any case, it is still a beautiful city in every sense.
I see it has a lovely location - between Genoa, Milan and Turin? I've been to Milan, but I'd like to visit Genoa, because it lays by the seaside. Other places in Italy I've been to are Florence, Venice, Bergamo and Rome twice. I love history, and your country is overflowing with it.
