There was a commercial where a guy comes home late from work and his wife doesnt cook dinner then she says "I brought pizza" and the husband lashes out..

Its a domestic abuse PSA I guess from the 90s...

That's a lot more graphic than I thought it would be! I can see how it would shock people and get them to remember it.

Re: Pizza for dinner commercial - Yesterday, 12:04 AM

I've just watched the YouTube video and while its graphic.. it doesn't actually show the violence which might be why YouTube hasn't deleted it, however its given me mixed emotions, it doesn't seem to me like its a PSA about domestic abuse, its more advertising a pizza.... I feel like it's actually trying to sell a pizza.. rather than raise awareness of domestic abuse. And they are using domestic abuse to sell pizza, it doesn't sit right with me.

Yeah, that's kind of my thoughts too. It showed this graphic ad, and now it's like "hey, buy some pizza!"

As a 90's kid there really wasn't much political correctness around back then, there were some very non polictal correct adverts I saw while growing up.... I would say its only been in the last Idk 20 years that political correctness became a big thing...

yeah its advertising the pizza rather anything else, it really doesn't sit right with me at all. given now the advice for people when they cannot ring the police for help and ask for help Is for them in a domestic violence or unsafe situation to ring the police and ask to order a pizza... and the police then know you need help.. but cannot ask for the police as such.... the advert really doesn't sit well with at me all.
