Another tattoo design. Opinions please?

Here's another, more simple tattoo design sketch that I came up with today.
As with my last one, it's got a lyric by My Chemical Romance (because they pretty much saved me). The angel wing symbolizes several thing (especially in juxtaposition with the lyric). It's for the death of my pets, the future deaths I'll have to deal with, me surviving being suicidal, the death of who I was in the past, moving forward as who I am without caring about what others say, and to remind myself that there must be someone watching out for me (otherwise, why would I still be alive after everything? I mean, I was told I almost died when I was about two, and that's just for starters).

Sorry this is a really bad quality photo of my sketch. I couldn't get a better picture. I've only got my computer camera. And I couldn't replicate the font, so that was added on in a photo editor....and of course the tattoo artist would shade the wing much better.....But I think I've decided I want some variation of this.

That wing is beautiful

I don't know why but for a moment there I visioned the wing with a little tear off to the side. And you can see a bruised but healthy heart thudding away behind that hole. Not sure that any of that made sense at all. But I just thought that adding an element like that (or any other symbol, actually) would emphasise just how far you've come.

Then again, I'm not a good artist so my opinions on art tend to be a little warped (albeit a little morbid).. and I just realised that that may not be the kind of overall image you are going for

Actually I really like your idea. It sounds like it'd be really gorgeous. (Don't worry about your suggestion sounding too morbid. I've always liked darker/morbid art. I was a Tim Burton fan since I was three. xD ) I guess I'll just have to keep sketching away until I come up with something. I'll keep playing around with the angel wing though. ^_^

Beautiful...as long as it will mean something to you, it's all that matter... but it doesn't hurt to have a sick looking tattoo that everyone else likes

I like it, but... I don't know... something about it strikes me as odd. I think maybe it's the fact it's just one wing, so at first I couldn't quite tell what it was meant to be.
I like the idea, though, and the fact it's meaningful.
I also really like the writing.

Thanks! I did do a redesign that I like much better...it also fits together much better than this. I'll post when I'm done shading it.
