I just have a quick question, I'm new. How does the chatroom here work? I clicked on the link in the message I received when I joined. It said something about a free voice chat on discord or something like that and I didn't see anyone talking but I think a list of usernames. I wasn't sure what to do and didn't know if maybe people could suddenly hear me if I talked or something so I quickly left So ya if anyone could explain how it works I would appreciate it.
Welcome Ally to my online home. I hope you will find happiness and help here, but as I haven't as yet visited the chat room, heard it is responsibly moderated so you should feel safe and enjoy the sessions.
Everyone here has been most helpful to me, and as you progress on the site, you also will enjoy our Resources: http://www.teenhelp.org/resources/ which have been very helpful to me.
Feel welcome to post asking for help and there is sure to be someone only to happy.
Kindest regards
Wendi

The TeenHelp chat room is actually hosted on a program called Discord, so you'll need an account in order to start chatting. While Discord does have a voice chat feature, the TH chat room is all done by text; the only way anybody would be able to hear you is if you deliberately joined a channel that's set up to be voice chat - which TeenHelp doesn't currently have. What we do have is different channels for chatting, discussing community events, and seeking/offering support and advice.
If you sign up for a Discord account and then click on the link to join the Chat Room, you'll be taken right to it. There you can read the rules and dive into chatting, and if you run into any problems while in the chat room itself you're welcome to ask our friendly members (in particular the Chat Buddies, who are there to ensure chat remains a welcoming environment) for assistance.
Hopefully this answered your question, and feel free to respond to this if you need any more guidance.
Because Teen Help is an essential support site for those in need. Teen Help, a self-explanatory title, incidentally, also has an impressive Resources page that I recommend you.
Maybe this can help you out some? I personally just learned by myself, but know there's some guides and stuff to help you get used to Discord. Discord is free to sign up for along with joining any server aka chat room!
oh, but this is still helpful to future people even
As the other members have stated, the chat room is on Discord and they have provided great information on how to access it! I can't wait to see you in the chat room!
