What are you reading now? - February 6th 2016, 02:30 AM

We had a thread like this in the past and I used to post to it all the time. However, it has closed so I thought I would make a new one and see if we can keep it going.

You can post an image of the book you are reading or just post the title.

Here's the book I am reading.

Listening to The Fault in Our Stars on audiobook at the moment.

I also have several books laying around with bookmarks in them.
(Crank by Ellen Hopkins, The curious incident of the dog in the nighttime by Mark Haddon, The End of Boys by Peter Hoffmeister (a memoir written by a former writing teacher of mine)) There's also a growing pile of books I intend to read...

Ellen Hopkins is amazing. I want to read more of her books but they are expensive and I get through them so quickly that it seems like a waste of time. I am actually gonna renew my library card next month and see if I can order a few of her books. I'll probably be on a waitlist. I did like the crank series but it wasn't my favorite.

I think she got a few of her books published. There is one or two others that I want to read but I've been thinking of checking wattpad first. I know she has a lot of kindle versions of her books though.

This is what I am reading:

I'm reading Strangers by Dean Koontz. I love the author, and my favorite book by him is Phantoms. I've just finished that one as well, and I've decided to start another one of his. So far, it's great.

I used to read dean Koontz. The first book I read by him was the face. It intrigued me so I read a few more. I prefer him to stephen king. His books are way more intriguing. I want to read the Odd Thomas books but I end up forgetting!

Speak was a great book. Her book, catalyst I believe, was also good. But, it was sad. I think a lot of her books are sad but those are the only two I've read. I tried reading Wintergirls and wasn't feeling it. Have a few of her other books on my reading list.

And, I'm reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. It's kind of weird but I've barely started it. Weird isn't bad though there are parts that intrigue me so I'm gonna try and read it through. It's for my book club but was on my list anyway.

Most required reading makes me sleepy. I think I liked To Kill a Mockingbird and Night were the only ones I liked. Although, I read To Kill a Mockingbird a few years before it was required.

The other book looks good and I have put it on my goodreads list though.

Speak was good. I haven't read Catalyst, but I'd like to. I have a large list of books I want to read. You should read her book, The Impossible Knife of Memory. It's been a few months since I've read it, but it's about the character's father's PTSD and how she's impacted by it. I like sad books, especially ones I can relate to. Oh, and there's a book called Letters to the Dead that is really good, one of my favorites. Can't remember the author though.

In the past few days I've read Heartbeat by Elizabeth Scott and Between the Notes by Sharon Huss Roat. I just started Reba: My Story by Reba McEntire and Tom Carter.

I saw The impossible knife of memory in the bookstore and meant to put it on my reading list. Thanks for reminding me! I already have the other one on my reading list though. And, I have so many books on my reading list I have no idea how I am gonna read them all. I am averaging three books a month. But, one of them is always for book club. Oh, well, it's fun trying to tackle my reading list. Although, I do keep adding books.
