Please Send Me a Dove (poem)

So lately I've been more religious. But last night i was really depressed...so i wrote a poem. Its not very good, but i feel like I need to share it.

Why am I lost in this
It's such a dark abyss
Please dear God help me through
And still believe in you
All I want is happiness and joy
And one day to meet a boy
Who will follow you
Just as I do
But first, please help
Me stop the yelp
Of pain as I cut
A deep agony in my gut
This pulls me closer to hell
But I want to live well
So dear Lord, all I need
Is not greed
But your warm love
Please send me a dove.

This is my first shot at a real poem from my heart...so if it sucks, that's why. Please tell me what you think. (:

I believe that every poems are beautiful, and I can say you've done it well. Keep it up! I do believe that writers do have their own unique way of expressing themselves. ^_^
