Poem that represents - September 19th 2015, 03:38 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I thought I would write a poem tonight with two levels: the words themselves and then one where the poem can be applied to life. I'm not too good at that. But oh well.

This poem really does not have a single topic, rather it jumps around, representing thoughts. It changes the way it rhymes quickly, representing the way thoughts can change quickly. It goes from negative to positive, representing the way people try to change their life around. At the part where thoughts of giving up come in, it says about starting over, representing starting over in the worst times in life.

I wake up running
Running from bad dreams
I end the day running
Running from my screams

I wake up crying
Crying away my hope
I end my day crying
Crying cuz I can't cope.

Hiding from thoughts
Each day is the same
I can't escape
if it's already in my brain.

I run as fast as wind
I outrun the fastest car.
I run as long as I can
But I can never get far.

I am filled with sorrow
I cry until I have no tears
I am filled with pain
From everything in my short years.

You might not see it
The pain I hide real well.
The secrets I keep inside
Secrets I dare not tell.

Not even my closest friends
Know me well enough to see
The fight I'm fighting is
Draining the life out of me.

I'm surrounded by people
Yet I'm still so alone
Yet giving up is
Something I cannot condone

I'm going to fight
Until I make it through
I'm going to start over
Start my life anew

This is very well written!

Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive

I love all of your work! Keep sharing with us.

If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?
Years of tearing down our banners, you and I
Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts
Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first

The axe forgets, but the tree remembers
