Cleaning up my bedroom
books on their proper shelf
clothes stashed away
Every item has a home
A place to stay, when not in use
Blades do not belong here
There is no excuse
So I dispose all fifteen of them
Thinking I am done
Until I find, right by my side
a sixteenth blade,
A pleasant surprise
I hesitate to use it, but then again
why not?
fifteen blades are as good as gone
I need the sixteenth blade for when I feel alone
I need the sixteenth blade to stay with me
I need to find the sixteenth blade a home
I definitely think people who have been in this situation can relate! Stay strong!
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
This is a good poem and I agree that it's going to resonate with a lot of people who have been in a similar situation. I really enjoy your writing, it's always honest and you've got talent.
