Female Advice Preferred: Problems w/ Puberty

Okay well I am pretty normal outside of the fact that I'm really tall (my mom is too). I was developing at a comfortable pace and was content with my body... until now.
The problem is that my behind is getting really big. It would be okay if this was a gradual change, but it wasn't. Over the course of a few weeks I couldn't fit my pants over it and putting on uniform skirt for school was a struggle.
I'm trying to understand this because this only happens when I gain weight, but in reality I've lost a lot. Is this abnormal? I wish it would slow down because I don't enjoy the attention from both boys and men (*shudder it brings. Please Help.
