Could I be pregnant? - September 3rd 2012, 08:35 AM

I'm in a long term relationship so yes, I'm sexually active. I'm on birth control, seasonique to be exact. Well, it came time for the inactive pills and I had unprotected sex during one of my inactive days. He pulled out (I know this isn't effective birth control as does my boyfriend). My period came a day or two early and only lasted about two-three days. I have a regular period of four days and it starts on the same day with this birth control. Also, I just started a different kind of birth control Sunday and we had sex Saturday night (unprotected, using the pull out method again, we had sex twice that night).

I know it's irresponsible and stupid, so please keep that part out of the answers. I had
a miscarriage about 5 months ago (it was his), it was only about a month to two months along. I had three lightly positive results. I am by no means trying to have a baby. I just need to know how likely pregnancy is for me so I can make it known and a healthy pregnancy is I am.

Thank you.

Because you've had unprotected sex, using the pull out method while starting a new form of birth control, the chances are very high, although I can't give you a percentage.

I would take a pregnancy test two weeks after the first incident, and two weeks after the second incident. That's usually enough allotted time for an accurate result to show on a test.

Thank you. I've been emotional for the past couple of days. I've been crying over stupid stuff... My birth control was supposed to be effective yesterday. Could it be my birth control?

It could be. Remember, it takes time for your body to become used to a new birth control. You could even experience your period a second time, which is totally normal and would explain your emotional state.
