Could I be pregnant??? - November 15th 2012, 12:10 AM

I"m on Generess Fe, I take it regularly and have not skipped a day. I've been on it for a year but I haven't gotten my periods in the past 2 months. 3 months ago it was exceptionally heavy. Its the 3rd day of when I have been off the active pills so I should have gotten it by now.

I have no tenderness in my breasts, no cramping, PMSing like I usually get other than last week for 2 days, no breaking out like I usually do with my period for the past 2 months.
I cannot currently afford a pregnancy test!!

Any other questions ask!

You neglected to tell us how frequently you're sexually active, so that makes answering this a little bit harder.

But with what you told, it's entirely possible that the pills are screwing with your period. The pill you are taking is specifically made to give you shorter, lighter periods. That can mean that they have the potential of going away completely.

If you live in the US, you can go to a planned parenthood to get a free pregnancy test done.

Like Maloo said, you never told us when the last time you had sex was so I have no idea whether this is a chance or not.

But I know that after well over 6 months on my birth control I missed a period which sort of freaked me out (but my reason wasn't pregnancy--I was actually worried that I might be sick because I'd had an irregular pap a few months before), and then I didn't get another period a month or 2 back. So birth control can sometimes just do stuff like that, it makes your period lighter.

But I think that along with planned parenthood in the states you can get a free pregnancy test at some sort of health place in Canada, it has a name but its really not coming to mind right now, just find a walk in clinic or the local health care unit or something. Also most dollar stores have cheap pregnancy tests, which I recently saw on another post.

You didn't say if you are sexually active.

I was on Generess Fe and let me tell you I got off of that asap. It was really weird. Some months I would have a period and then after about 3 months I just didn't' get one at all. I didn't like having that fear hanging above my head questioning whether I could get pregnant or not since I would never get a period.

It sounds like you might benefit from switching to another pill where you will get your period every month.

If you take your pill regularly as scheduled you have a 99% chance of not becoming pregnant. However if you miss pills and are sexually active, I would suggest taking a pregnancy test just to be sure. Planned Parenthood will offer free pregnancy tests and even contraception to anyone under 17, at least where I live.

I am very sexually active, more than once a week. My partner usually pulls out except for probably 4 times in the past month?
