That sounds like such a great job! Seriously, elderly people are amazing.. so sweet and kind and they tell great stories. I used to work in nursing homes / assisted living facilities, lovedd it.<3

Haha.. well hopefully your department gives you the go-ahead! I'm sure they'll work something out with you.

I work with elderly patients (~55 years old) who are suffering from schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and other disorders with schizophrenia-like characteristics. It's a research position, but I do get to interact with the patients, and once I make the internship more "official", I should be able to administer tests. =D

My supervisor is a pretty chill guy... so I'm not TOO worried about him. It's the university's psychology department that I'll have to convince, and I don't think he'll keep pushing if they say "no" the first time. He'll just look at the form, say "we'll figure it out later, I trust you", and that's about the extent of his involvement. xD

What kind of internship is it? Fingers crossed you'll be able to work something out with your supervisor, going through all the hours again sounds like a lot of work!

Haha, don't worry about it. =P I've done it before, too.

I'm almost 100% certain that I want to do the internship... but I need to talk to my supervisor, because I want to "negotiate" as far as the hours are concerned. xD Normally, you commit for two quarters, and come in to the lab for 10-12 hours/week. BUT, I've already done all those hours WITHOUT CREDIT (that was my choice, and yes, I had a good reason for doing so)... so I want to see if I can get away with half of those hours, but still get full credit, given all the work I've done so far. =P

It's so confusing, and I also need to ask him for a letter of recommendation for graduate schools... so that's why I'm taking my time in figuring out how to approach the subject(s). D=

And ohh gosh I'm sorry, I thought I replied to your VM from agess ago but guess I didn't Fail on my part!
Those sound like fun classes though, I'm assuming you're a psychology major Did you decide whether you'll take the sociology course or the internship?

I'm a procrastinator, but not when it comes to things I'm super-passionate about. I'm easily bored, but also easily amused. As a result, my life is waaay more complicated than it needs to be. xD

I'll be taking cognitive psychology, abnormal psychology, and adolescent psychology. <3 My fourth class will either be a sociology course on "the family", or it'll be my internship for academic credit (I've been doing it for seven months solely to gain experience, but now I think it's time I got something more for it =P).

Ew ew ew, I'm jealous of your wicked long break. Although I know where you're coming from - I don't know what to do with myself during the summer!
What courses are you taking in the fall?

Yup, I'm still on break. =D We get out in mid-June, and don't have to start again until mid-to-late-September. <3 Honestly, I'm kind of bored, and looking forward to school starting again (picked some exciting classes!)... but I'm also not looking forward to filling out graduate school applications. D=
