Ooooo now THAT sounds interesting! Are there specific conditions you'd be working with or as many as you're able?

Yeah it is, I'm worried because they want schools to start opening by the end of February/start of March and I'm just like, eeeee. Just because cases are going down... I don't think we should be opening everything back up again. As much as I want to get back to the gym and see clients, do my own thing... I'd rather cases be way lower because we'll only end up in yet another lockdown.

    Thank you!

That's horrible. I hate that sort of thing. It's so time-consuming having to redo it. At least it all turned out for the better as you've said!

What kind of master's programme as you looking into?

I'm not bad. UK lockdown got extended until March. It was to be expected though. I just worry for the furlough scheme as it's my only major source of income right now. My week isn't bad. Just a bit tiring though trying to keep clients motivated, as well as myself.

Technically it's a 3 bed as Julie and I share the loft which was renovated to give us twins extra space.

Many people in Monaco know Prince Albert. Though he is always accompanied by his bodyguard police, he is always in our streets, these days wearing his covid mask, but chatting away to whoever. Shop owners, restaurant owners in fact everyone has a framed picture of him on the walls. Not because it's law or anything, but because we love him!

There's also a massive construction project going on off our shores, but very much part of it. I don't know how many luxury apartments there will be, but Monaco is having to expand out to sea because our tiny city-state will be unable to sustain everyone considering how densely populated we already are. The building project is a major investment by the Principality and will, come 2025 when built, provide welcome income into possibly billions of euros, and become another attraction while accommodating more people. Julie and I have already placed a deposit for a 4 bedroom sea facing apartment, which will cost a biggy, but we were left an inheritance by our late parents, so part of it will buy into this project and provide for us and Maman should our present sea view, one day be obliterated if another block of apartments are built.

It's going to be costly. But the only tax in Monaco is VAT. Income tax, wealth tax was abolished. This is why Monaco, our beloved country, attracts (IMO), all the wrong people. But that is just a personal feeling of mine.

I can't wait to start this new job! I am proud to be Monégasque, though we don't have to - have to - be qualified, but I want to be. In 5 to 6 years I will be wanting to achieve my Masters. But I am content anyway, for not needing to [pay any tax my job's income will be excellent anyway, and like Julie I speak the Monégasque dialect https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mon%C3%A9gasque_dialect and other languages from childhood: French, Italian, Serbo-Croat for translating in the police department (if need be), and some Spanish in addition to English.

Like Julie, I've had to get by in this life and that has meant grabbing whatever opportunity came along. Having had brutal parents since thankfully dead, life has been a battle. But we're gonna win!

Must go get late lunch. Already it's gone 14:35.

Sorry I was called away to dinner!

Most other residents are American with a few Russian oligarchs, and a Brit or two. Many residents have enormous private yachts, some with helicopter pads! Most are away. Probably Florida, Barbados or somewhere exotic, but because of Covid, many are locked away in their homes along the coast of France. We are friendly with Princess Maria Chiara who with her sister Carolina live with their parents in St. Tropez. They are sweet girls.

Many here rent. Film stars and singers rent fabulous apartments, many with views of the sea because to buy, costs would be many millions! Far better to rent. I don't know what the cheapest rental costs, but likely be prohibitive, way out of the average Joe's income. It is just idiotic! But it's safe here, though this morning we were angry that someone came by last night and stole our cycle saddles. No clue why! The police may have caught someone, but we don't know yet.

We live in our family's villa on one end of Monaco. Our villa is set far back, but has a small path down to an equally small bit of beach. We have a boat and a boathouse. Thankfully our views will not be ruined by on-sea constructions. My biggest hobby is fishing next to getting outdoors, and I have a super pushbike. Its belter!

It would be fabulous meeting you one day!

Yes, it was decided I should be privately educated by Maman after our birth mother died. There has been many legal procedures in Monaco and as we already new this woman, The Principality decided she would be the one to foster us. Up to 15, we (Julie and I) had attended one of Monaco's state schools; education is free to all Monegasque, except as happens with parents, Maman wanted us to have advanced education and fixed us up with an online school and paid for us.

Julie has always been excellent at carpentry, so she schooled til 16 and then got a paid apprenticeship with a Master carpenter in town. Her work will complete when she's 24, then either do exams or be judged by her Master to qualify. In the meantime I've been studying English Literature, English grammar, though unlike Julie I'm dyslexic. It's been a struggle though my comprehension of history and restoration has been most acute, the struggles have been and still are with spelling. I'm lots better now!

History both Monegasque, French and British are also on the curriculum though I've already achieved A Level Math. Maman was decided that I continue with History and English and get a degree. Monegasques can be chosen over non-Mons even if we have no degrees. Prince Albert feels that us who are native to our country should be given priority. I know a guy who is Monegasque working at Air Traffic Control. because he was born here, the Principality chose him over someone who had many degrees. There is much subsidization for us, and Prince Albert insisted paying Maman (she is Monegasque now) for my education. Which, erm, is very generous of him!

My dyslexia has been a haul, but I already knew what I wanted in life, and have already been working at the Palace. It was there that Prince Albert II asked if I would the chance to work there one day there. I didn't hesitate!

I will find you a good video on Monaco. Give me time to have a see.

Sometime if I can find a good video on Monaco, I'll post it. My country contains obscenely wealthy people, but very few Monegasques. Out of some 37,000 residents there are fewer than 16% of us, but the State is and has been very generous to us. This New Year I've been given a permanent job at The Principality to work as archivist, conservator and librarian. Prince Albert will choose Monegasques for careers even over non-Mons who have degrees, but eventually I intend getting my Master's. Presently I'm doing my Bachelor's exams, having started age 15. It's my Birthday today. Grand old age of 19.

Thank you Mallika and happy New Year!

We had a crazy-fast flight home, only managed by the skin of our teeth and had to order extra Christmas food online since despite being tested Covid-negative the Principality still demanded we self-isolated by law. It's great being back!
