Hi Marguerite, I felt kinda bad about flipping out like that, since I'm new here. It's obvious that some of these foks don't have a clue about the effects of past discrimination. But that's true of a whole bunch of people here in the states. My dad audited my posts last night, he said he was proud of me but not to get too worked up because if I'm defending people's rights to have different views I've got to expect that I'm not gonna always like those views. Appreciate the shout out. Can we be "friends?"

Hahah, nah, I've always thought that and when I read your response to that thread it just sort of solidified my thinking. No problem!

Yeah. I used to think there was no point me posting in the Current Events section since it was full of liberals anyway so I'd just be echoing other people, but God, I feel like I'm arguing the left's side more than ever. Not even the left, sometimes it feels like you have to battle for common sense.

I haven't heard it enough times to decide where it sits in with her other albums. Infact I still can't decide which of her first two albums I like best so it's probably going to be the same with the third. I like the development in the sense that you can tell Laura had more creative control this time round, which I think she acknowledged somewhere. All My Rage is a great note to end the album on, and The Beast is a pretty epic mid-way point. I bloody wish she'd play in my part of the country, would love to see her. It's been quite a good year for music in general. I used to be a mostly-rock person though, and I think rock music has let itself down this year. I'm glad there's the likes of Laura around though to keep good music going!

Thanks for the backing up in the eugenics thread, it's an uncomfortable discussion. I'm actually here to ask what you think of Laura Marling's new album if you've picked it up yet? I think I'm waiting til Christmas to get it but I've listened a few times on Spotify and I think it's great, as per usual.

To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget

So I think I saw this in a movie once.

Best experience ever:

Sound: Album Songs by Regina Spektor (See avatar hehehe)
Sight: Floating in the middle of a lake, Somewhere secretive, near a forest
Touch: It's raining slightly
Taste: I'm eating brandy snaps ;D
Smell: Milk and honey is in the air

Your turn, GO!

I've happened to notice a wide variety of girls starting to call themselves bitches.
You know them. They wear too-tight t shirts stretched across their breasts with words like "You say BITCH like it's a bad thing."

If you'll navigate to their facebook page, they'll happily tell you that they stick wiv der frens. They'll tell you that yeah, they are a bitch, if a bitch means having an attitude and being opinionated.

They'll tell it like it is, but don't...
