Well, first of all it looked like I may have started my leave too early, but it was actually a blessing in disguise.

I went on leave because my aunt, uncle, and my 2 little cousins were coming to visit. Turns out we won't be seeing them until next week. My youngest cousin apparently caught a high fever and got very sick the day they were supposed to come, so they'll be delayed. At least she got sick before coming here, then we'd all be sick. However, I do still have plans to make and a few more things to get, and I'm leaving for my trip in 6 days, so I guess it's a good thing I'm already on leave. I have more time to tie up the loose ends before I go.

I'm going to have so much shopping to do next week. Apparently, my fiancé has decided he'll take care of all his family Christmas shopping on his 3rd day home. And guess who's coming along to help and make sure he doesn't forget anything? Plus he's terrible at wrapping, so I'll probably have to do that for him, too. I also know exactly how much he has saved, and he always tends to spend too much; he needs to watch what he buys this year, particularly considering he's buying me an engagement ring too.

As for me, in the meantime, I need to finish wrapping presents, completing my list of things I'll need for my trip, and I have to make sure I have everything I need to make those homemade Snickerdoodles I'm planning on making the day Jon comes home. I've only had them once before, and they were delicious; I decided that since I always make my special brownie recipe for special occasions and parties, this time I'd make something different. I have to have enough to make 2 or 3 batches though, he has a big family and I'm sure my family will want some too.

There's so much more I still need to get done, I just hope everything works out as it should.

Aw, that sucks that your cousin got sick! Those types of things seem to happen at the absolute worst times, but at least now your household will stay healthy and you have some time to finish things such as shopping and your trip!

And hey, it's good your fiance has you then! You'll be there to help keep him in track and keep him in line!

Maybe you can do some of the things at once to make it easier, such as while your snickerdoodles are in the oven you can start making those lists and making sure you have everything, or you can wrap in between batches!
