I am so pissed right now I can't even believe it. Here's what's going on.
As I said throughout my previous blog entry, I really need to get moving; I have to get my Wedding planned, I've only got 5 months until the big day. However, my mom has been very rude about the whole thing ever since I got engaged. She insists that I'm still a child, and she keeps telling me everything I want for this Wedding is not only wrong, but stupid. I want her help here, but she has not lifted a finger to help me put this day together. And this makes me feel particularly upset, because she was so excited when my sister (technically my aunt, my mother is actually my grandmother, I'm adopted) was getting married, and she did everything she could to give her a great day.
I was looking at my Wedding dress tonight. I found it online, on Etsy. Now, normally I wouldn't risk purchasing something this important online. However, I looked all through this shop. Her dresses are STUNNING, and she has over 160 reviews, nearly all of which are 5 stars. I took the time to read every single review there, and you know what? Every single review said the dress fits absolutely perfectly and it arrives quickly. She custom makes the dress to the measurements you give her, and I tried to explain that to mom. What happened? Nothing good.
She wouldn't let me finish a single sentence I tried to speak, and she spoke to me like garbage. She insists that she's the one who's right, and in the end, she refused to even listen to what I was trying to tell her. She just sent me off. She even tried to forbid me from getting this dress. Excuse me, but this is MY wedding. This is the dress I want, and I'm set on it. I'm confident that as long as I send the correct measurements, the dress will fit perfectly and be beautiful.
I talked to Jon about what happened. He was really pissed about how mom has been acting throughout our engagement. He knows that this is the dress I'm set on, and he even promised that if it comes down to it, HE will order it for me if he has to. I'm so stressed, now I have to worry about the dress even more, plus I have so much else to worry about.
By the way, this is what the dress looks like. It's just so beautiful, there's no way I'll change my mind about it.
