I had a really intense, shaky urge. So I sat with my cat and controlled my breathing.

Texted my best friend and went on tumblr haha.
From day one I talked about getting out
But not forgetting about
How all my worst fears are letting out
He said, "Why put a new address on the same old loneliness?"
When breathing just passes the time
Until we all just get old and die

I took a jog in a tank top in the freezing cold last night to get a similar sensation. And in a little bit, I'm going to draw on myself with a red marker.

Rambling on to a friend all night, not really about support but just about random things. I still fear cutting, though, but it's helping me get through not sleeping all night and through the morning before school.

One coping method I find good is to avoid certain types of music that will trigger my past; I just turn it off if it's on the radio. I also avoid violent movies and spooky stuff.

I threw out my razors and never looked back. I had a lot of days I wanted to go back to cutting but I knew that I was made of more and I could get through it. I have been self-harm free for 7 years now.

I've written a lot of poems lately; and I might hold ice in a little bit if this urge gets any worse. I'm listening to music, and I'm sitting with my adorable cat.

I made myself stay in bed under my electric blanket that was on high so I felt got instead of cutting. I think it only worked because I was watching Pretyy Little Liars on Netflix along with it.

I do that with my blanket all the time! It's like a sauna. ::
I'm posting around the forums, but I'm going to crack a glow stick and try to sleep.

Listening to loud music, writing poems and brainstorming ideas for them, and I'm going to blog in a little bit.

I printed out dinosaur coloring pages and drew on them with my new crayons.

I ran about 5.5 miles with a friend, getting totally lost once along the way, which made the whole thing more fun. I also drew on my arm instead of self harming.

Instead of going home and self-harming when I'm hurting over something, I probe my feeling ands try and figure out exactly why it's hurting me and in exactly what way... it sounds weird but often just trying to come to terms with the mental pain distracts me from converting it into a physical one. This is something I've learned through therapy and through almost five years of giving up my beloved SH but it's very effective. In fact it worked tonight and I'm one day closer to being five years free on Feb 17th.
