A tiger does not change its stripes
Not when the stripes are blood red and skin white
So easy to lose sight
Trapped behind bars
The way out will leave scars
Oh, they will leave scars
grip, slash, rip, bleed
grip, slash, rip, bleed
Grip, fist, whip bruise
Fast, fast, fast,
There's no time to lose
They tell me to use the toolbox of skills
The only toolbox I know is the one that kills
Tell me again, what recovery means?
How we went around the room,
sharing our hopes and dreams
I said I hope to hope to hope to hope
To find out what I hope
They smiled at that joke
No one knows I seriously have lost hope
Tell me again how all I gotta do is talk it through
cause your family really loves you
Why can't I be the judge for once?
Day in and day out I live with them
Yes, I have mental illness
(No that does not mean I am always wrong)
Yes, I am timid
(But why should that make me worthless and unlovable?)
Yes, I struggle with words
(But if you took the time to listen, my communication problems would start to calm by itself)
Can't you see how deep this runs?
If only they cared?
If only they cared.
The torment goes on and on and on
Years later, same bars
but a tiger does not change its stripes
Not when the stripes are blood red and skin white
The colors of freedom
At what price?
Punishments for being at fault
The way out left it's marks
Oh it left it's mark
The battle still goes on
grip, slash, rip, bleed
grip, slash, rip, bleed
Grip, fist, whip bruise
Fast, fast, fast,
How is that for a tiger?

I really like the title, and well the whole piece really.
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive

I like the flow here, and the images you used with the tiger. Well done.
If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?
Years of tearing down our banners, you and I
Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first

I really like this. The imagery of the colors was powerful. You're talented.
From day one I talked about getting out
But not forgetting about
How all my worst fears are letting out
He said, "Why put a new address on the same old loneliness?"
When breathing just passes the time
Until we all just get old and die

I think this might be my favourite piece from you so far. I can't really pinpoint what exactly about it resonated with me, but I think the whole piece was brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing.
