Question Period - June 19th 2012, 10:08 PM

When I first got my period it was pretty regular, I have been on my period for 4 years and for I guess the last 2-3 years I have been very irregular, I’m only on to 3 or 4 days but them I could come back on in the earliest and 6 weeks the latest. It annoys me because I don’t know when I’m going to be on!!

isn’t I normal for my age or should I go and see my doctor about it?

Welling seeing as I don't know your age (you didn't mention and it doesn't say below your name), I can't really say whether it's normal for your age or not, but if you are worried about it, you can always just see a doctor to be sure. But I'd say if you are in your teens, or even earely 20's that it may just be normal irregularity. But again, if you are worried, no matter your age, you can go soee a doctor.

From what you've said, it doesn't sound like there is anything significant that's up, unless your periods are very heavy, painful or long in duration as well as the irregularity. Irregular periods can be a result of changes in excersise or eating patterns, medication or stress levels. Though seeing as it is becoming a nuisance and it has been on your mind enough to write this here, I'd say going to a doctor sounds like a good idea.

This might be something you can mention at your next doctor's appointment, but not something that sounds like you need to schedule one now unless you are experience pain. It's normal in your teenage years to have irregular periods, so I wouldn't worry too much.
