Picking a time to date again is completely up to you. There is no right or wrong answer to that. My ex-boyfriend whom I dated for two years broke up with me (3 days before Christmas, no less), and I began dating my current boyfriend of nearly 3 years almost a month after that. When you feel ready, you should begin dating when you want. Good luck in your new adventures!

As Jake and Shannon both said, it's when you feel ready - properly ready, not just need-to-be-in-a-relationship ready - that counts. For some people, that can be a matter of days; for others it can be a lot longer. There is no hard and fast rule, and it all comes down to how you feel about it and when you're ready. There's no rush, but at the same time don't feel as if you need to have a cooling-off period from it or anything.
Best of luck.
