Getting offended.
It's where everyone is
Getting so butthurt
Over almost every little thing,
Whether it'd be over people,
Or even something
As controversial as politics.
Then, when someone gets offended,
They have to whine and cry
Like someone killed their dog,
And act like entitled little bitches
That are entitled to every little thing.
The easily offended
Are the easily manipulated.
It's true.
Someone who gets offended
So easily is much more
Easy to manipulate
Than someone who doesn't
Get offended all that much.
But why is getting offended
Such "a popular thing now?"
It's like when someone gets offended,
They think they'll win a grand prize,
Like that at a carnival or theme park.
Why, oh why, do people
Get offended so easily now?
Nothing happens when you get offended...
What? Pretty soon we're going to
Get people calling in the cops,
And going for citizen's arrest saying things like,
"Yeah, the guy right over there walking away
Supports gay people and them having rights...
AND I'M LIKE SO OFFENDED RIGHT NOW!!
He needs to go to jail!"
It's pretty shockingly surprising
How people easily get offended now.
You almost can't speak your mind
Without someone getting so butthurt
That they have to dial 9-1-1
Just for an ambulance to arrive,
And they get taken to the hospital
To get bundled up in ice packs,
And get a pair of crutches
Because the offensiveness
Just hurts so bad...
Let me tell you all something
Very, very straightforward...
You are absolutely entitled
To your own opinion.
What may offend you
Might not offend me,
And vice versa.
Doesn't mean it's an opinion
That necessarily needs to be heard,
Nor is that opinion the truth,
Because at the end of the day,
No one should care
About your opinion,
But woe is me,
Somehow we generally do.
You shouldn't get offended so easily
That you have to start
A social media rampage,
And wage "a war" with someone
By blowing up and arguing
In the comments section of the post.
Seriously, why should you bother
Investing so much time
Getting someone to agree with you?
At the end of the day,
People are entitled to their opinions,
And we shouldn't push our views
And shove it right down their throat,
But somehow we want to.
Cause our own pride and ego
End up getting so hurt
That we can't let that go
For. One. Goddamn. Time...
Those getting offended
And acting entitled to every little thing
Are only contributing to the many problems
That society already has.
Don't be one of them.
