another day - October 14th 2016, 04:04 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I said to myself
I'd do laundry today
Got out my coins
Picked out the quarters
Sorted through clothes

But what's the point?
If I can just stay home

What's another day away from everybody?
What's another day stuck inside my room?
Hidden from view, under my covers
I can easily let today slip like any other

I said to myself
I'd take a step forward today
Inquired about job training
Set up an orientation

But why get out of bed?
If I stay stuck inside my head

What's another day pacing to and fro?
What's another day waiting for Fear to slow?
Holding my breath, till the panic lifts
I can easily zone out today, using distractions

What's another day more?
Wishing the people I care for,
Cares for me back
As if they're a shooting star,
And I can just ask
No, it doesn't work like that

He's leaving
(For wanting a hug)
He's leaving
(For telling him I don't feel loved)
He's leaving
(For being an all around pathetic,
Good for nothing
Disgusting
Loser
"Don't call me your father")
But I should be the one gone

I like the parentheses in the last stanza!

Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive

That was my favourite part, but I really liked the whole piece. I especially like the way you wrote a couple of example scenarios about everyday activities and then went deeper into the feelings.
