You changed your avatar from the Christmas llama. I'm surprised with the change, but not surprised it's another llama.

Oh final VM because I'm too lazy to edit the original one: did you ever decide on a name for your car? I remember you had a name but then changed your car's gender or something like that.

And while I'm here, I'll respond to your original VM.

I wasn't far off crying, I'll tell you that. Especially when Mum was like "Until I sell my car you're going to need to drive it every now and then to make sure it still works". Oh joy.

I learned to drive on a manual, mostly, but my dad had an automatic so I also learned on that. Most of my friends have manuals (although I've never driven their cars... they've offered, but I'm just super nervous because I've only driven like four different cars ever). My car is good because it's got this option where I can manually change gears anyway, just without the clutch. I think it's called sports mode or something, I'm not really sure, but it's how I normally drive him. I don't mind driving manuals, except I have an old/ongoing knee issue that flares up around winter/when doing certain activities, and, you guessed it, using the clutch a lot is one of those activities.

Thank you. I think the name suits him quite well.

Bilbies are so adorable. Around Easter time it's not uncommon for people in Australia to give each other chocolate Easter bilbies instead of Easter bunnies. I will admit that I have not read that book, or even heard of it, but it does sound quintessentially Australian so I'm not surprised it's a thing.

I think we've discussed cars/driving before in the past so I figured I'd share my recent awkward experience. Yesterday I had to drive my mother's car to the mechanics to get it serviced, but it's the first time a) I've driven the car all year and b) the car's been driven since about February. We already had to wait for the NRMA to show up and jumpstart the battery because it had died, and by that point I was over everything. Then we got to the actual driving bit, and I should mention now that Scout, my car, is this cute little lovely automatic, whereas my mother's car is a very blokey manual that I refer to as The Beast. It took some adjusting to, and I'd only driven like three blocks when I came across a police car. They were turning in front of me and I gave way (which I'm like 98% sure I was meant to do because they were on a major road and I would have had to turn across two lanes of traffic to get in front of them), but they went so slowly and both officers in the car looked at me the whole time. It was so off-putting and I was genuinely expecting them to pull me over, but I think it was just because I must have looked so uncomfortable driving that brute of a car (plus, y'know, I had P plates on my car so that automatically makes me more suspicious). The other lousy thing was that because the battery had been dead we weren't meant to turn the car off for half an hour, meaning that if I stalled it even once we would have to call the NRMA again, and it could take up to an hour for them to get there and start the car again. So much pressure. I managed to get us there in one piece, but my god it was a stressful morning and I was so glad to get back into Scout again at the end of the day.

Hmm, I love a good pun but that's a biiiit of a stretch.

Also in case you haven't figured it out, I've cancelled my Europe trip. My new tentative plan is to go there for 2019 for the NWC, but anything could happen between now and then so I'll have to wait and see.

Short blog from the most appalling excuse for a staff member.

Hello!

Long time, no see. Something that is entirely my own fault for getting too overwhelmed with everything being so busy and pushing TeenHelp to the bottom of my priorities with the intention of 'dealing with it later'. Except later didn't get the chance to happen. With things changing a lot at work and university being so time consuming and challenging now, I've spent most of what time I have left in...

It’s today! In half an hour I’m heading to my rheumatology appointment. I’m trying not to get my hopes up. I keep telling myself that they’ll just tell me nothing is wrong. Even though I feel like this pain isn’t normal. The physiotherapist gave up. She was obviously relieved when I told her I had a rheumatology appointment because I didn’t have to be her problem anymore. She did her usual thing of pressing on my back, which did nothing but make me jump away from her hands and try not to yell out...

The past few weeks have been a nightmare. Not completely, there have been good points and it's not like I'm miserable or anything. But dear spaghetti they've been stressful. I worry about everything anyway, that's just me. But this time it was things I couldn't talk myself down from because they WERE worth worrying over.

Work got stupidly stressful when I was landed with a task that was started so badly by the other person that it took me two days to fix. It was a simple mailout to...

I haven't done a lot of TeenHelping for a while. Hands up, I've been awful on the Staffie front. At first it was revision for my exam, then it was celebrating my freedom and watching Netflix without feeling guilty. Crazy, right?

Unfortunately then I went to a physiotherapy appointment. I'm not sure what he did to my back, it really hurt while he was doing it but he said it would help. Ever since that appointment the pain has been way worse. Any longer than about 20 minutes sitting...

At last. No more revision, no more worrying, no more panicking and freaking out and stressing about forgetting things.
My exam was yesterday and, on balance, it wasn't too terrible. I was able to answer the terms with ease, and the two essays that came up were the ones that I had less detail prepared for but I managed to ramble on for 3-5 pages for each one so hopefully there's enough information there to get me some marks!

I had booked a doctor's appointment before the exam...
