I'm a 23-year old who's currently building a life that I want to enjoy for the long term. This blog is designed for young adults who seek guidance and clarity on the problems that life often throws at us. It's Not the End of the World

It's not the end of the world.
High school usually isn't
Where you meet
Your lifelong friend(s),
Or your lifelong soulmate and love.
I used to think
If I didn't meet
Any girls in high school
That suited me
And would be my girlfriend,
I would end up being alone,
And not finding a girl
Who loves me for who I am,
And wouldn't change
The wonderful person I am.
I used to think
That the friends you made
In high school
Would stick around with you
Even after graduating senior year.
How wrong was I
On such thinking.
I ended up losing
All my friends,
My "close friends,"
Even my best buddy Robert...
Who I thought
Was going to be my lifelong friend
Even if everyone else is gone
But nope,
He's gone too...
And now I lost Jon,
Whom I considered a best friend
Even if Robert did fade away,
But Jon faded away too...
And when I had a crappy Senior prom
And didn't officially get a girlfriend,
I remember how miserable I felt
That year and thought from this point on,
It would be hard to click with a girl
Who I would love with all my heart.
Then I met my girlfriend...
And to this day,
I'm very happy and lucky
To have her as my
One and only girlfriend.
The day that we had met
For the first time in person,
It was so magical
That even though
We only got to spend
An hour together,
It was a golden hour
That I would treasure
The rest of my life.
Being with her
Made me so happy
That even when I was
Struggling and feeling sad,
She gave me hope
That people do still care.
She never gives up on me,
And I will never give up on her.
To this day,
We have been in a relationship
For almost 3 years already,
And still going.
Sometimes, the people that do come
And stay in our life
Don't always come
When we want them to,
And that's okay.
Those people will come into your life
When you least expect it.

Inspired me a little.
Im in my freshman year. And it sucks. Everyone is really mean and really harsh and all they care bout is making other people feel bad for who they are and their dating life.
Its sad when they ask me if im dating someone I say no and they call me a hoe and slut. And then ask me why Im not dating anyone I say no one is worth it here
But what you wrote gave me understanding that you do not need to be in somethin just chill it out and wait.

I'm happy to hear this gave you a better understanding of people, and I'm sorry to hear freshmen year has been not so good of a start for you. You are right about what you just mentioned about people in high school. Just don't give in to what anyone says or tells you what to do. Peer pressure is one of the big problems you'll possibly deal with in high school, so steer clear from that. Also, I wouldn't bother paying attention to what other people say, and if they call you names, ignore them. You don't owe them any kind of response, and their words aren't the truth anyway.
Well, I do believe the right people come into your life when you least expect it, but that shouldn't prevent you from interacting with other people. If you haven't already, I would learn how to properly interact with people and work on social skills.
Just remember that not everyone is a bad apple.
