What are your goals for physical exercise? - March 28th 2015, 12:23 PM

Hello everyone,

Spring is here (for most of us) and then Summer is upon us and great weather means being more physically active and sports.

What goals have you made to getting more exercise?

Are you going to sign up for some sports or already signed up to some?

What sports or physical activities are you wanting to try this Spring and Summer?

Have you in the past done any sports or physical activities that you're wanting to take part in again?

What kinds of physical activities do you most enjoy taking part in?

Are you part of a sports team at your school/College/University?

Hope everyone is enjoying Spring, I know we have snow still and it's still snowing. But, we can still think about sports and physical activities we want to do.

Here are my answers to the questions I asked

What goals have you made to getting more exercise?
My goal that I have made to get more exercise is walking my dog at least twice a day. Another goal is, going swimming, using the gym, and biking.

Are you going to sign up for some sports or already signed up to some?
I've looked into signing up for some sports or physical activities but I haven't found anything that interests me yet.

What sports or physical activities are you wanting to try this Spring and Summer?
I would love to get back into playing Badminton, I loved playing it back in high school and I really miss it. I might ask some friends if they would like to play.
I've thought about Tennis but it's way different than Badminton but it has a lot of similarities.

Have you in the past done any sports or physical activities that you're wanting to take part in again?
In the past I did a lot of biking and since I have a new bike I am excited to take it out for long bike rides. I want to take part in playing Badminton again.

What kinds of physical activities do you most enjoy taking part in?

Some of the physical activities I most enjoy is swimming, biking, walking, and hopefully I will add Badminton to that list soon. I haven't thought about any other sports currently.

Are you part of a sports team at your school/College/University?
Not in school. But in the past I was on the Volleyball team, Soccer team, track and field, Badminton, and played indoor soccer games when I was in high school.

I used to workout and play football. Maybe one day I will get back into it.

hi everyone! My goal in physical exercise, If I don't feel confident about my body, I'm not going to sit at home and feel sorry for myself and not do something about it. It's all about taking action and not being lazy. So i do the work, whether it's fitness or whatever. It's about getting up, motivating myself and just doing it.

All I could tihnk about was the scene in American Beauty:
Quote:
Lester Burnham: I figured you guys might be able to give me some pointers. I need to shape up. Fast.
Jim Olmeyer: Are you just looking to lose weight, or do you want increased strength and flexibility as well?
Lester:
I don't have any concrete goals. When it comes to exercise, I'm not always the best at being realistic in what can be achieved in what amount of time, and I become disheartened if by 3 workouts I can't already run at this pace or if I didn't lose x amount of weight. So I'm mostly focused on being healthier and relieving stress. I still want to complete a 5k race (I've ran that amount but not in a race), I want to start cycling with my partner, I want to start some weight training this summer with a friend of mine who told me she'd show me how, etc. But no goals on pace or anything. I also wouldn't mind losing a few pant sizes as I can't afford to buy more clothes, so fitting back in my high school clothes would be nice.

My main goal is to live a life full of health and happiness. It reminds me the reasons for starting the workout and I keep myself stick to the process.
