So nice of you to drop by, thank you so much for doing so! In case you don't happen to know who I am, my name is Mark. I'm a 23-year old who's currently building a life that I want to enjoy for the long term. This blog is designed for young adults who seek guidance and clarity on the problems that life often throws at us. What you will gain from reading my blog entries is the wisdom that I've learned along the way that has helped me create and live a better life. You can absolutely do the same. If you happen to read some of my oldest entries, you will notice how I've changed along the way compared to now.

I want to remind you that we all go through challenges and obstacles. We can't go back and change what happened. All we can do is our best at the end of the day and learn from experience so we don't end up repeating the same mistakes.

If you ever want to message me about anything, feel free to PM me and I will answer back as soon as possible.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day wherever you are in whatever time zone you are in!

In a world where technology has become
so advanced and programmed to be in an
instant gratification kind of mentality, we’ve
been so spoiled with that mentality.

When we want an item we can’t find in store,
no problem. Order it on Amazon, and it shows
up within the next day, fast and easy.

You want to order some food but don’t
want to get in your car and drive all the
way to the food place to get it to go, no problem.
Just go on GrubHub and someone will deliver
it right to your door within an hour or so.

Hell, if you want to meet friends or get laid,
you don’t have to go out there and awkwardly
approach people saying “Hey…what’s up? How’s
it going?” You just download an app, cobble up
a profile together, promote yourself, swipe right,
and BAM! You just got some friends, or you got
yourself a hot looking date…

Here’s the problem…

Because we live in an instant gratification kind
of society thanks to the advances in technology,
we think we can take that same concept and apply
it to relationships, but the truth that we face is
that concept never works out beyond the superficial level.

Heck, on the Internet…you can be anybody.

Anybody can make up a profile of who
they’re actually not in real life.

I can make up one myself and pretend to be someone.

You don’t know if someone’s being real on
their profile and if they’re lying about it.

There’s no way to tell.

You think those dating apps, apps for finding friends
actually care if you find anybody meaningful on there?

Nope.

They charge you a monthly membership fee,
and as long as you’re doing just that, they
don’t care what happens to you, if you’re
successful in finding someone on there or not.

If you’re looking for friends…

If you’re looking for love…

Stop looking.

We’ve been told by other people to go out there
and meet some people, make friends, but how can
we do that if we don’t learn how to enjoy our own company,
if we don’t learn how to love ourselves for who we are,
if we don’t have a great relationship with ourselves?

No matter how many apps, websites you join
to meet people, it’s not going to solve your
“feeling sad and lonely” problem. It will only
deepen your pain and make you feel worse.

If you’ve got a hole inside you…

There’s no app for that.

Take initiative and fill in that hole yourself
because no matter who you meet or how well
the conversations you have with people go,
no one’s going to fill that hole in for you.

No one’s going to solve your problems but you.

What’s your relationship like with yourself right now?

If it’s not great, I urge you to make that your
number one priority above all else.

The most important relationship is the one
you have with yourself, and if it’s not great…

You’re going to have a hard time maintaining
relationships with other people.

Only when you make yourself whole, only
then you can attract the right people into your life.
