Improved privacy options.

Hi everybody,

Today I'm pleased to announce that we've listened all your feedback over the years and introduced several new options to improve privacy on TeenHelp, as follows:
  • Anonymous posting - In the advice forums it is now possible for members to post threads anonymously, meaning others aren't able to see what they're posting. If you do post anonymously people won't be able to see basic information like your age or gender, so please be sure to put these in your post if they are relevant to your advice request. Please note that in the case of rule violations Moderators are still able to see who the real author was. This is important for us to be able to maintain the safe environment on TeenHelp. When you create a new thread you will find a little tickbox at the top to choose anonymous posting.
  • Account deletion - We now allow you to delete your account. Please note this can't be undone, which is why we're requiring members to wait 7 days before we process the deletion just in case members change their minds. You can request account deletion here: http://www.teenhelp.org/delete
This is currently a trial and we may remove these features if we find they are being abused, so please use responsibly.

For other ways to keep your privacy online, please visit our Safety Zone: http://www.teenhelp.org/safetyzone/
