Tips Of The Month

Each month we share small bits of practical advice that you can implement to improve your life or that of others.

==========

Quick and easy ice cream sandwiches

Ice cream sandwiches are a classic and tasty treat for people of all ages. Though they are known for the chocolate cookie on the outside, there are other ways of eating them. Read on to add a spin to the traditional favorite.
  • Choose your ice cream and waffles. There are many different types of ice cream and waffles, so this gives you a vast selection to make various combinations. If you're unsure, try going with plain frozen waffles, or consider purchasing chocolate waffles and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Like to cook? Make your own waffles instead of using frozen ones.
  • Put your waffles in the toaster and wait for them to warm up. Experiment with how you like your waffles heated - do you like them just warm, or do you prefer them to be crispy?
  • Let your waffles cool a bit. Regardless of how long they cool, the warmth will melt the ice cream. Letting them cool for a minute or two could save you from cleaning up an extra mess. Put a waffle down on a plate, then scoop ice cream on top. Following this, put the second waffle on top and you've got a tasty variation of a typical ice cream sandwich.
  • Try different toppings and combinations. You're not limited to only ice cream and waffles. Consider sprinkles, caramel, fudge, or whipped cream. You can create half a sandwich with one waffle (by cutting it in half after heating) or you can pile the ice cream on top of the waffle and eat it the same way you'd usually eat waffles.

Setting up a school routine

Back to school is just around the corner or has already started for some people. Setting up a routine for the weekdays could help and make you more successful in the long run. Here are a few things to think about while setting up a routine.
  • Pick a time to take a shower everyday or every other day, either morning or night. Knowing what time you're going to shower or freshen up can reduce stress when you already have a lot to do. You can also pick out your outfit the night before, so it is one less thing you have to do in the mornings.
  • Set a time to wake up every morning to give you enough time to get ready and eat before having to leave. Fueling your body before going to school is important; it sets the tone for the day. In addition, it may help to choose a specific time to turn off all devices and head to bed.
  • If you are going to bring a lunch, try making it the night before. Prepping your lunch the night before will give you more time to decide what you would like to eat.
  • Decide a certain time to do your homework everyday, and try to stick with it. Prioritizing your homework can keep you organized and successful, which is essential for decreasing your stress levels.
