What blows me away is people will spend an
enormous amount of time seeking help, seeking
advice from other people, and even when they
do get that advice, they never take it to heart
and keep repeating the same problems again and again.

What does the word “friend” mean?

Generally speaking, we’ve used this word
so loosely that we lack an understanding
of the true definition behind this word.

Growing up as little kids in school, our teachers
would tell us that everyone in our class is
all friends here, but are they really your friends?

Because no one ever taught us the true
meaning of what it means to be a friend to
someone, we have a skewed definition...

I remember a time when I first joined TeenHelp
that my ambition and goal was to help people
solve their life problems, no matter what it was.

Why I had that ambition was I was moved and
saddened to hear about stories of teenagers,
people like me who didn’t want to live anymore.

So I made it a duty at the time that I was going
to devote my time to helping those in need,

So I have just started a new job and am currently half way through it. It is event catering and this job is a 4 day event. Being new not knowing anyone is definetly not helping. Not too long ago, I met a girl online who
I thought at the time was worth getting to know.
She sounded like she could relate to me,
she sounded like we had a similar way of thinking,
and at the time, I felt like I was “falling in love.”

We texted each other almost every day,
and we even had a few meaningful video chat
conversations and spent hours talking to each other.

In a world where technology has become
so advanced and programmed to be in an
instant gratification kind of mentality, we’ve
been so spoiled with that mentality.

When we want an item we can’t find in store,
no problem. Order it on Amazon, and it shows
up within the next day, fast and easy.

You want to order some food but don’t
want to get in your car and drive all the
way to the food place to get it to go, no problem....

You meet somebody for the first time.

This person looks like they could potentially
be your friend, or possibly even your boyfriend/girlfriend.

Conversation goes really good.

You exchange numbers.

You feel excited because now there’s an
opportunity for you to get to know that person,
and it could be the start of something wonderful.

As soon as you get home, you immediately start
texting the other...

They say that it can be scary when you approach
someone for the first time, and you fear what could
possibly happen.

You play the game inside your head whether to
approach the person you see in front of you,
or if you’ll end up wasting your time.

You get so nervous, your heart’s racing,
you’re pacing back and forth inside your head,
and you’re just not sure what to do.

Don’t overthink it.

I know, it’s that time of the year again where
it’s another year going back to school,
dreading all the boring school work ahead,
only to be anticipating for the weekends yet again.

This will be another year for fresh new faces
to cross your path, for opportunities to come
your way, or who knows what’s in store for you?
